Our Process
An image often represents a thousand words. In this case, the
image to the left is a simplified version of the web design
process.
Analyze
1. The first step in creating a viable website is determining goals and direction for the site.
A. Define the target audience.
B. Determine the objective for the site (information b2b,
employee information, customer information, direct sales, etc.)
C. Establish goals for the site
D. Gather or create data and documentation to support
development
E. Create a general outline of site content
Once the overall objectives for your site have been determined,
the next step is determining those specific design issues of
function and aesthetics.
2. A domain name or names must be selected and registered for
the website. Name choices can be researched to determine
availability.
3. Selection of an Internet Service Provider (ISP) should occur
concurrently with the domain registration. The ISP should be
listed as the technical contact for your domain.
4. SEO and preliminary marketing strategies will be discussed to make sure the design plan is in line with marketing goals.
Design
1. The design process begins with a brain-storming and decision-making session to determine function, content and aesthetics. Once the actual functionality of the site is defined, the client must gather or produce the necessary information and, where specific company-related images are required, photographs to be used on the site.
2. Keyword search and copy review occurs
prior to and conjunction with page development. A
specialist makes recommendations for copy which will
enhance your site's search engine optimization. If
needed, we will connect you with a qualified copywriter.
3. While information gathering occurs, if desired, the client
can request a demonstration/ prototype home page. This page, while
not available to the general public, can be viewed online to get
a “live” view of color choices and layout decisions. The cost
for production of this page is deducted from the final design
cost if utilized in the project.
Development
1. After registration, an “Under Construction” page is immediately posted to the site. This page contains the usual “Future home” message and contact information.
2. Assets are gathered and assessed (text, images, programs and pre-existing scripts, etc.). Page generation, program installation, customization and custom graphics tasks are performed. Milestones are established and modified as needed to make sure the project is completed on time and on budget.4. Once design is complete, the client can review the site “behind” the “Under Construction” page before the site goes live to the public. At this point, minor text and image changes are made to complete 4. Once design is complete, the client can review the site “behind” the “Under Construction” page before the site goes live to the public. At this point, minor text and image changes are made to complete the site.
Implement
Site launch requires a simple remapping of the site and
removal of the “Under Construction” page to make your site
available to the world. If desired, ongoing an SEO Review
and/or Site Maintenance Plan can be developed for the
site.

Getting a website up and running is a major accomplishment, but if your site is to perform at its best,
it needs a steady diet of love and attention - content fresh, accurate and up-to-date; file maintenance and
backup; and performance monitoring.
